My First Rugby Ball

Catch Me, Hold Me, Pass Me

Enter coach Mini; rugby’s newest hero who’s been busy capturing hearts and minds across the globe. With his gentle, nurturing, fun style, Mini reflects all that’s great about mini & junior rugby and is the perfect introduction to the game for your little ones.

My First Rugby Ball is a beautifully written & illustrated book which covers the basics of our game and encourages participation both at home & on the pitch. With fun & positivity at its core, Mini will teach the little guys everything they need to know to get them ready for their first training session.

He’ll also teach them some great values to remember, both on and off the pitch.

Let’s Play Rugby

Let’s Play Rugby takes things a step further with the introduction of Mini’s older brother; Junior. Here we see him guide his readers through a game between the Exe Men & the Mercia Dragons, introducing line outs, scrums & penalties.

It’s a stunningly illustrated, fully comprehensive breakdown of the game and an excellent coaching resource for both new and established players alike. It’ll get you thinking, planning & evaluating.

Mini’s Arctic Adventure

Spring 2015, saw the children’s charity of rugby; Wooden Spoon, send two teams of incredibly brave folk, led by rugby legends; Ollie Phillips & Tim Stimpson, on an epic, record breaking journey to the North Pole.

It was an amazing challenge that set a new world record with the most northern game of rugby ever played and it will be remembered long after the final frozen try was scored!

Mini’s Arctic Adventure has a fun, educational narrative which sees Mini follow in the footsteps of the Arctic Challengers to play in his game of rugby.

Meeting his team along the way, you may just be surprised at the characters he meets and you’ll find out just what, exactly, an arctic hair has in common with a left winger and why a musk ox will make a great inside centre…

“Old Halesonians embrace the idea because we are looking to recruit new rugby players for our Mini Section. My First Rugby Ball has enabled players to secure a free book and to give a book as a gift to a friend. We are using this concept alongside previous initiatives to invite a friend to train”.  Old Halesonians RFC
