Mini's Academy goes All Star

DL ClubsHere at Mini's Academy, we are delighted to have teamed up with the guys at David Lloyd gym in Exeter.

Alongside their ever-popular tennis and swim programmes for their younger members we will be running our rugby focused after school clubs, for 4 - 7 year olds, as part of their fantastic All Stars programme.

Endorsed by RWC2015 legacy partners; Active Devon, Exeter City Council and Exeter Community Chiefs and designed by former premiership player; Nic Sestaret, this is the perfect platform from which to develop those key skills of agility, balance and co-ordination, whilst also focusing on the games values.

Whilst not every child will follow in Nic’s pretty amazing footsteps or even go on to play the game, the key element is instilling a sense of confidence and a love of being active, alongside the development of those core skills.

As legacy of RWC2015, the academy launched with the fab kids over at Ide primary school, earlier this year and has gone from strength to strength ever since. We now have over 100 children registered with the academy, with new registrations coming every day.

With coaching from Exeter Chiefs community coaches and with the support of some of your favourite rugby names; Matt Jess & Gareth Steenson to name just a few, the waiting list for places at schools is almost as impressive as the coaching itself!

At the heart of all our sessions lies the commitment to see every child leave each session having had fun and feeling that they’ve achieved and learnt something new. Whether they’ve learnt a new ball skill, worked well as a team, laughed or made a new friend; the key is being active and having fun.

David Lloyd resizeAt the end of each term, the star of the show himself; Mini, will present a certificate to each child, congratulating them on their achievements and showing recognition for something we feel they done particularly well.

Mini’s Academy is a solid preparation for life; with integrity, passion, solidarity, discipline and respect lying at our core.

The 45 minute sessions will run on Thursdays between 4.30 & 5.15 with the first session kicking off on Thursday 14th April with Chiefs Community Coach Gareth Bright at the helm.

Places are limited, so make sure to contact the guys at reception, to book your place. Good luck and we will see you there!
